Valentines Day Chocolate Fondue Recipe

I’m in the Mood for… Chocolate by Melissa Kay

Valentine’s Day is coming soon and the one thing on everyone’s mind? No, not “love” but “chocolate”! Indeed, we can have chocolate any day of the year, but somehow, when it is encased in a heart-shaped box, looking like a piece of art and almost too pretty to eat, it becomes something magical. Ah, the delight of receiving that red or pink carrying case of those rich and creamy confections, particularly, if they are from someone you find to be
just as sinfully sweet.

Why do we crave this treat so? Would the heart-shaped package deliver the same
excitement if we knew that hard candies or jellybeans were nestled inside? Studies say,
likely not. It's actually a chemical reaction! Chocolate contains Theobromine, a stimulating substance with effects similar to caffeine. Chocolate also helps the brain produce Serotonin, which makes us simply “feel-good”. Hmmm, haven’t heard the same about a lemon drop!

Now, the best part…chocolate can be good for us! Just be sure to choose the dark variety, which has high amounts of antioxidants. Milk chocolate is, of course, just as delectable, but not quite as nutritious, due to the added milk and high amount of sugar.

Wow, so not only does this treat taste oh so good and make us feel so good…it is also good for us! Maybe it is “love” on everyone’s mind after all…love for Chocolate!

Here is a quick Chocolate Fondue Recipe for a silky delight on Valentines Day:
