A Halloween Night and the Pirates from the Caribbean!
|
|
Ghosts and goblins! Witches on brooms! Vampires and bats! Famous pirates called back to the land of the living! The headless horseman rides again! Halloween bursts with ghoulish charms. This famous tradition comes to us from the ancient Celtic world. For some unknown reasons, they believed that the dead came back to life on this one particular night of October 31, which later came to be known as Hallow's Eve or Halloween.
Pirate costumes are one of the most popular costumes worn by kids on Halloween. Girl pirate costumes are just as popular as boys pirate costumes. Kids love to disguise themselves in the famous Pirates of the Caribbean costumes and make believe they are looking for buried treasures, and re-enacting some of the scenes from the famous movie series! The Captain Jack Sparrow costume is a big favorite with kids.
Pirate Halloween costumes can be purchased, complete with all the accessories. Or you can make your own pirate costume at home! This is fun for the kids as well and your pirate costumes will be an original creation! Use black pants and a flashy shirt or blouse. Tie a brightly colored scarf as a belt. Put on an old coat and some old boots. Authenticate your costume with extra special effects- find an old oversized hat or make one of your own with cardboard and felt. You can use a bandanna instead of a hat but don't forget the eye patch! Use black marker pens to draw a beard and some nice looking scars! Accessorize with some cheap, but showy jewelry. Lots of rings, gold, and pearls! You can even add a stuffed monkey or a stuffed bird as the final touches to your original pirate costume!
Maybe your kid wants to be a Davy Jones, the captain of the Flying Dutchman, the undead captain who roams the sea as the devil himself. Enraged by a broken heart, Davy Jones ripped his own heart and hid it in the Dead Man's Chest which now holds power over all the oceans. Cursed with immortality Davy Jones is a mutation of sea creature and humanity which makes him an interesting costume indeed! Davy Jones possesses a musical locket and your child would love to accessorize with the Dead Man's Chest which contains Davy's heart!
Captain Hector Barbossa is one of the 9 pirate lords of the Caspian Sea and the sworn enemy of Jack Sparrow who marooned him on a tiny island after persuading him to reveal the secret whereabouts of the Chest of Cortez, a cursed treasure. Captain Hector is fond of apples, skilled with a sword, and has a pet monkey over his shoulder-all of which you may want to incorporate into the costume as special touches.
To create the Captain Jack Sparrow costume, use a wig to portray dreadlocks and a red bandanna. Add lots of "kohl" round the eyes and a necklace made of human toes! Put on Sparrow's leather hat and your kid is all set for Trick or Treating come Halloween night!
