Gift Basket Ideas To Make Yourself-For The Beach Baby

Gift basket ideas to make yourself arent hard to come by! You just need an original basket and a little inspiration! If you have a new baby on the way, or maybe a babys first birthday party and you would like directions on how to make unique gift baskets, youre in the right place! Even if you dont live by the beach, a bitty beach baby pail will come in handy at the sandbox and is one of our wonderful gift basket ideas to make yourself!

Bitty Beach Baby Pail

This idea is creative, unique and inexpensive! Talk about cheap baby gift baskets, take a look at this supply list!

  • Plastic bucket or pail (buy at the dollar store!)
  • Plastic shovels & sand tools in coordinating colors (buy at the dollar store)
  • Sand sifters (for finding treasure!)
  • Bag of sea shells (buy at the dollar store)
  • Baby sun glasses
  • Waterproof baby sunscreen
  • Infant sun hat, coordinate the colors with the pail and sand tools
  • Newspaper / tissue paper
Crumple up a small amount of newspaper or tissue paper and place it the bottom of your pail. Arrange your purchases as artfully as you can in the pail - all except the sunglasses. Place the taller items in the back of the pail and make sure all labels face the front of the pail. Place your sea shells in-between the toys at the base of the pail, just as you would put filler in a gift basket. When you are done arranging your pail, place the sunglasses on top (so they wont get scratched). You can wrap this baby gift basket in cellophane and ribbon as a traditional gift basket would be completed. To personalize gift basket, you can purchase a beach towel, have the babys name embroidered on the towel, and wrap the bitty beach baby pail in the towel tied with a fabric ribbon, similarly to wrapping it with cellophane it will look perfect!

These customized unique gift baskets are both adorable and thoughtful. Most new parents receive gifts for the new baby that will be obsolete in a few months, this gift will last for three or four years. My five year old still plays with his sand toys in our sand box! Give this idea a try, youll be glad you did!

Cheap Tips!

  1. Purchase cellophane and ribbon at a time of the year when it goes on clearance, such as the after holiday sales (Christmas, Valentines Day, Easter, etc.) Just buy solid color cellophane and ribbon so it can be used for many occasions!
  2. If you know you have a new baby coming in the future, plan ahead! Look for the above items at year end and buy them on clearance. Place your purchases in a large storage container in your attic, garage or basement. When the occasion arrives, youll be ready AND you will have purchased your items at a discount! Ta da!
