Baby Models and Talent Agencies

Baby modeling can be great fun for the parents and the baby model. Every man and women that enters parenthood will tell you that their little one is the cutest little baby on the planet!

Many parents do not realize that there is a huge demand for baby models, due to the big range of baby products in the market. Each company producing one of these baby products want to maximize its sales. There could be no better way of doing so than by having some really cute baby model, beautiful kids associated with the product. Welcome to the world of baby mo

Baby Modeling

deling!

Every parent of a small child knows about the huge list of baby care products available in the market. Just to count a few, from nappies and wipes, to rusks and cereals, to rash creams and skincare products, to baby clothes, the list is endless.

Baby modeling is a great way to show off your adorable baby to the world. While steering your baby on a path towards a modeling career might be the last thing on your mind, a modeling photo shoot can prove to be a lot of fun for baby as well as the parents.

If you intend to take your baby one step closer towards a modeling career, you can start off with a reputed talent agency for kids. These agencies have tie ups with big companies who want some talented, cute kids to represent them.

It is always a good idea to start off with a good talent agency, for the directors and photographers, who run the photo sessions, are good at working with young babies and anxious parents because they have done it many times earlier.

BABY CONTESTS

Baby contests have become quite popular now-a-days. There are a lot of Baby photo contests and video contests that you can get your little one into. You can register online for participating in such contests. Some of the famous and legitimate baby photo contests are Gerber baby photo contest, The Cute Kid contest and The Regis and Kelly baby contest. You can even start off with a simple Google search and you will find a lot of contests to choose from.

Most of these contests give money and prizes to the winners. Imagine your kid being rich and famous at the age of 3! Some of these contests are free and others charge a small fee for participation.

Most of these contests require you to send your baby’s photograph to the contest website. You can do this by emailing the pictures or uploading the photos on the contest website itself. It is a good idea to take professional help, which would make it more fun and take the stress out of the whole process.

If you have a really cute and beautiful kid, you can enter into such contests and who knows, your kid might be the next baby superstar!

Along with the fame and the riches, it could bring a lot of fun and enjoyment to you and your baby.

Too often as parents we put pressure on our children. Pressure to excel
in athletics or academics. Pressure to be beautiful or popular. Too much
pressure from parents on a child is detrimental to them physically
and mentally and causes childhood stress.

Today’s world is competitive and as a result many parents apply
academic pressure. They want to see their child succeed in school, get a
good job, and be successful. Researchers at John Hopkins University did a
study to see how parents’ beliefs about achievement and success affected their
children and the level of pressure their children felt. Researchers found that
children of parents who emphasized external standards of performance such as getting
high test scores, high grades, and winning awards felt the most pressure. Those students
whose parents focused more on internal standards, “predominantly their child’s
understanding of material and improvement in performance,” felt the least amount of pressure.
Although many of these students still met high academic standards. When parents balance
external and internal standards as well as provide academic support and guidance their child
is less likely to feel pressure. But will still realize the importance of academic achievement.

I often tell my son that it is more important that he enjoy reading than be the
top reader in his class or have read the most books. But if he enjoys reading then he is
more likely to be successful because he will read more often. As a result he was one of the
best readers in his class.

Many children feel pressure from parents to be beautiful or thin. Parents who place
excessive emphasis on looks are teaching their child that it is a person’s outside that
counts. Looks are important and as a parent you should make sure that your child is well
groomed and has clothes that they feel comfortable in. But looks are not everything. What
is inside a person is more important. If you focus on your own looks or comment on a person’s
physical appearance rather than personality attributes you are teaching your child to focus on
the physical as well.

While teaching sixth grade I had a couple of girls who felt that they were not thin
enough (although I thought they were both thin and beautiful). So they stopped eating lunch
at school. They were feeling pressure from parents to be physically beautiful. As a result of
the built-up childhood stress, they began cutting themselves. As a parent it is important
that we do not echo the voice of the world and teach our children that it is what is inside
that really counts.

Child actors often feel pressure from their parents, especially during auditions. It is
important to remember that you want acting to be a positive experience. If every time your
child attends an audition they feel apprehensive and scared they will disappoint you it will
show. He will not be able to really act. All you can ask is that your child do his best. He
either will have or won’t have exactly what the casting director is looking for. Sometimes
your child might have an off day. We all do. Don’t dwell on it. Remember he is just a child.

Child actors don’t have to look perfect. Casting directors want to see real children.
If you are calm your child will be calm as well. Allow your child to be herself as often as
possible. If she’s not the type to wear a frilly dress don’t put her in one. She will not be
comfortable and as a result will not shine on stage.

As parents we need to make sure that we are not putting undue pressure that leads to
childhood stress on our children. We can support and guide them without applying
unrealistic expectations.

Do you want to make your child a model or actor? Participate in
the fastest growing baby photo contest and get unique industry exposure.

Does posture really matter?

“Yes,” says Jeffrey Bergin Dean of Clinics at the National University of Health
Sciences in Lombard. “Many children are suffering from chronic pain in the hands, neck
and shoulders, as well as repetitive motion injuries such as carpal tunnel syndrome.
Many of these ailments can be prevented and eliminated with proper attention to posture,
correct backpack use and attention to how and how long children sit at computer stations.
“Poor posture can also cause bones to grow abnormally. Good posture ensures that
the least strain is placed on muscles and ligaments. According to Spine Universe.com
having good posture prevents muscle fatigue and backaches, decreases wear on joints,
ligaments, and bones, and contributes to a good appearance.

So what is good posture?
Posture is how a person holds their body when not only
standing but when sitting or laying down. It requires a person to balance their
muscle along their spine, have good muscle flexibility, and normal motion in the
joints. Those who have good posture are aware of their posture and correct it when
wrong. Posture comes from a combination of good muscle control, strength, and self-confidence.
Those with good posture walk and sit with their back straight, shoulders back, and head high.

What are the common posture problems?
Improper wearing of backpacks causes many back problems in children. Children, who spend a
lot of time at the computer, watching television, or playing video games, often have poor
posture. Slouching while walking or eating is also common.

What is proper backpack use?
Make sure that your child backpack weighs no more than 10% of his body weight. Make sure that
your child’s backpack does not hang more than four inches below the waist. If it does, tighten
the straps. Also it is important to use both straps. Although not cool it prevents neck and
back pain.

What if my child slouches while using or viewing media?
If your child slouches while using the computer, providing desk and chair of the right size
would be one of the ideal posture correctors. Their feet should touch the floor. Have them put
their back against the chair and use a pillow if extra support is needed. If they do use an
adult chair give them a stool for their feet and support their back with pillows. Dr. Kristine
Fortuna, a professor in the orthopedic department at Temple University, also recommends
that, “Children should sit in front of a video game or television for no more than
20 minutes at most.” Then your child should take a walking break.

How do I teach my child good posture?

Be a good example. Demonstrate good and bad posture. Point out people who
have good posture. Comment on when your posture is good or bad.

Remind. If your child is slouching remind your child to stand up
straight and put her shoulders back as an important posture corrector.

Make it a game. Matthew Goodemote, radio host of Back Talk, says, “Start off by
asking your children: Who can sit slouched? Who can sit tall? To practice sitting slouched,
round the back as much as possible and let the chest sink. To practice sitting tall, rock the
pelvis forward and lift the chest up. This posture corrector teaches the child to recognize
the difference between “good” and “bad” posture, without labeling it good or bad. This helps
them learn how to control their posture automatically.”

Imagine a balloon is lifting you up. It isn’t always easy to explain what good
posture is so Goodemote tells parents to “ask the child to imagine their heads being lifted
by a balloon. Then describe how the balloon rises up and pulls their bodies up, but does not
lift their feet off the ground. Most kids know that balloons fly up into the air and can
imagine themselves being lifted up. This helps them straighten up without having to know
what good posture is.”

A positive attitude is so important in a world increasing in negativity and despair.
Having a positive attitude means that you focus on the good things in life and
do not dwell on the negative. Developing a positive attitude helps people cope with their
lives and reduces destructive thinking. But having a positive attitude isn’t something
a child is born with. It is something that needs to be developed. As a parent we
can help our children in developing positive attitudes about life that will help them
as they face the challenges associated with growing up.

Teach your child to never say, “I can’t.” This statement makes a person feel
inadequate. Using this phrase makes children feel badly about themselves. Help
children realize that they may not always be able to do everything by
themselves, but with help most tasks can be accomplished. If your child doesn’t
want to do something they should say, “I won’t.” That way they are taking control
of the situation and are saying no not because of feelings of inadequacy but by personal
choice.

Help your child learn to control internal dialogue. These are the things
that we say to ourselves inside our heads. Children need to learn that when
they start thinking negatively about themselves or situations that they can stop. Then
think of something positive about themselves or their situation. For example if your child strikes
out while playing baseball he may think, “I am so bad at baseball. I should just
quit playing.” He needs to learn to replace that negative thinking with a positive attitude
and thought like, “I may have struck out, but I will practice harder and next time I
will do it.”

Being positive is a choice. I often remind my son when he is mad or unhappy
that he has chosen to react that way. People and situations can make us feel badly
but we choose whether or not to dwell on it and allow it to change our mood.

Find reasons to smile and laugh. Tell jokes, watch funny movies, tell stories. Smiling
and laughing actually change your brain chemistry and make you feel better. A home full
of laughter is a happy home. Just hearing the sound of my children laughing brightens
my mood.

Love is a powerful force and it gives children a feeling of self-worth. The more
a child feels loved the less likely they are to allow negative thoughts and
thinking into their life. Say, “I love you,” often, even if your child acts like
they don’t care inside they need the reassurance that you do. Be liberal with
physical affection. We are physical people. Research shows that babies left in
orphanages who do not receive any physical contact suffer from it. Give your
children hugs, pats on the back, or high fives. My children can’t go to bed
without their nightly hugs and kisses.

Learning something new helps a child feel proud of herself. It increases confidence and
provides something for her to focus on. Having a hobby that she is good at is important.
We all need something that we can be good at. This could be playing a sport, musical
instrument, or as simple as being a loving child. Whatever it is let your child know that
you recognize and value their skill.

Teaching your child to have a positive attitude will build self-esteem and confidence.
Developing a positive attitude will help your child have a successful, independent and a self-reliant life. People naturally
gravitate towards positive people. So parents start helping your child develop a positive
attitude today.

Participate in blooming community of parents, entertainment industry professionals to share
and learn new things. You can have your kid participate in the online kid photo contest and win
cash and other prizes.
