So, you have an adorable baby and you’ve decided to try and get your baby into the modeling world. There is a lot of advice out there about how to go about this. It’s not nearly as complicated as becoming an adult model but it does take some serious dedication on the parents’ part. If you’re ready to give it a try remember it’s not really something you do just for fun. It has to be taken seriously just like a job. These companies want to make money and they don’t put up with people who don’t.
That said – the next thing to do to prepare for baby modeling is to put together a portfolio. But, don’t worry about how much you’ll have to spend to pay for a professional photographer. Since babies change so quickly and grow like weeds, it wouldn’t make any sense to pay a substantial amount of money for their portfolio photos. The casting directors understand how much babies grow and theyHow to Create a Baby Modeling Portfolio – Get Those Precious Shots in Order know that those pictures taken in January are probably not representative of the baby in June.
As the parent, this is excellent news for you. And since baby modeling is completely different from child or adult modeling, you really don’t even need very many pictures. You just need a few to show off your babies photogenic qualities. Here are some tips for putting together a baby modeling portfolio:
Though it’s hard to choose when it comes to pictures of your baby, you have to. You don’t want to get carried away and send too many. Two or three will be enough for them to assess whether your baby is a good candidate for their needs.
• You’ll want to make sure you take a close up of your baby’s face. Start from about the shoulders up. You may want to include one picture of him smiling and one without, it’s up to you.
• For baby modeling, agencies also want to see a full length shot of the baby. This is easy to do. Just position him in a cute pose (sitting or standing) and make sure you get from his head to his toes. Try to get an accurate representation of his size as this will be important.
As you can see, putting a baby modeling portfolio together is simple. You can use as little as three pictures or up to six. Anymore than that is not necessary. Also anticipate updating your baby’s portfolio about every six months.

I was about to enter in the CuteKid contest when i saw there was a fee of $20.00 per pic. I know someone in the industry and they said if you have to pay, then it is not legitimate. Has anyone sent in photos for the CuteKid and Paid the Fee?

Around 17 years ago, my son Devin was around 4 years old
at the time! While waiting in line with close 2 100 other anticipating parents with young hopefuls,I questioned them, if it was their 1st time, what their (JRP) service really provided and asked how we would be represented or rather what was the fee for,& what 2 expect, or rather”not”expect! The response I got ,saved me time & $. J.R.P. simply gets a wallet size photo of your child and places it in an Encyclopedia size hardcover book that will be available for scouting agents, producers,(The Entertainment Industry) in general & the public to view, and pick out a desirable face or look. They r not managers 4 you, agents,or any recruits 4 your best interest. They basically build up hopes for people & few if any actually land an audition or get what they expect! The important thing I would suggest, do your homework & research how everything works, be thorough and read before you sign,or pay! Even if it is lengthy… Most importantly, What are You REALLY paying for? Advertisement that has 50 kids on the same page as yours in a book that is 500 or more pages long! Honestly, how can anyone really stand out from the rest. I have never heard of anyone getting their “big break” or “start”, or even seen in these 20 yrs New Talent come from J.R.P. No recognition for their “outstanding ” or “groundbreaking” Actors Guild Award Nominees! The agency is a bunch of hype (don’t believe in them for stardom! Sorry 2 disappoint you! One more thing, Devin finally got his foot in the door at age 4, through a “New Talent” Agency… The owner was Robert Feldman (Cory Feldmans Dad!). They became his managers who handled his portfolio, acting classes every Sat. for 3 months or so in L.A. And they recruited him to an agent who is now retired Natalie Rossen Agency! He had daily auditions,”cattle calls” and landed 3 commercials in the course of a year! The commute from Ventura to L.A. was tough after awhile but I felt I got my $ worth over the course of 2 yrs, acting classes, portfolio, excluding mileage estimate it totaled $1000.00 or so in weekly installed payments! Alot goes into this industry! Good Luck!

If using a standard digital camera, take a moment to learn about the “continuous mode” or “burst” feature that allows you to snap rapid fire shots with one push of the shutter. Make it fun to smile for the camera, attach a birdie toy from smileformetoys.com and capture some great shots!

Hello could anyone give me some feedback on John Robert Powers. My son has been attending their acting school for over 8 months now and has only had 1 audition and 1 interview with a agent. We still don’t have an agent however the 2 ladies that are running the Las Vegas branch have “taken him under management”. Was that a terrible decision to let them manage him or not. I really believe in my son Michael and i know he has the personality and looks to become a successful model/actor. However it seems like everyone is just out to take advantage of the parents and get as much money out of us as possible with no results. Could someone please help? GOD BLESS and Thank You!
