The 2010 Regis & Kelly baby contest starts January 29, 2010. They will also be announcing the beautiful baby winner on LIVE! with Regis & Kelly during their “Beautiful Baby Week” between March 1^, 2010 &  March 5, 2010.

“Live with Regis and Kelly” is executive produced by Michael Gelman, and is distributed by Disney-ABC Domestic Television. Produced by WABC-TV in New York, “Live with Regis and Kelly” airs weekday mornings in more than 200 markets across the country.

Here’s a snippet of the official 2010 Regis & Kelly baby contest rules:

HOW AND WHEN WINNERS WILL BE SELECTED AND NOTIFIED

Potential semi-finalists will be notified by telephone during the week of March 2, 2009. Three (3) attempts will be made to contact the potential semi-finalists. If contact with potential semi-finalists is not made within three (3) days potential semi-finalist will be disqualified and an alternate will be selected, time permitting.

Ten (10) semi-finalists will be chosen from all qualifying entries. Entries will be judged by representatives of the LIVE and Parenting magazine staffs.

All entries will be judged based on the visual appeal of the baby to the judging panels as evidenced by the photograph. All decisions of the judges are final and binding as to all contest matters.

7. Twin Babies of Sarah Jessica Parker (Broderick)

For instance, you can’t go wrong with twins in matching getups, , so when these the twin celebrity babies of Loretta and Tabitha Broderick were spotted in N.Y. city with their mom, Sarah Jessica Parker (Broderick), on Mother’s Day, it was quickly a favorite among moms everywhere, with their identical dresses, hair clips, and shoes!

6. Son of Orlando Bloom

There isn’t much more you can say about a father holding his baby, except that it is adorable.  This is definitely the case with Orlando Bloom and his son Flynn.  He was spotted at LAX carrying his son, whom he shares with supermodel Miranda Kerr.  Ladies might love the fact that he rather enjoys bathing with him as well.

5. Daughter of Hugh Jackman

Walking with her dad, actor Hugh Jackman of X-Men fame, and their Bulldog, Peaches, 5-year-old Ava Jackman is possibly more adorable than she usual is.  Now, when the two of them met up with Nigel Barker, of America’s Next Top Model, with his son Jack, bundled up in a warm winter coat on the streets of New York City, it made for one cute celebrity babies photo ops!

4. Sons of Heidi Klum and Seal

Heidi Klum and Seal are used to turning heads singly, but together they are a celebrity couple to be reckoned with!  Beautiful people with beautiful faces they make beautiful music together in the form of Yohan Riley Fyodor Taiwo Samuel, their youngest of two sons.

3. Baby of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt

Again, beautiful people with beautiful faces make beautiful kids, and this is perhaps no more apparent than in the face of one of cutest celebrity babies of late:  Shiloh Jolie-Pitt.  Obviously, this is the offspring of the intolerably gorgeous Angelina Jolie and the ruggedly handsome Brad Pitt.

2. Son of Britney Spears

Say what you want about Britney Spears, her son, Jayden James is ridiculously adorable.  Her career might need a little resurrecting and she’s made some poor decisions, especially regarding the father of her children, but she has adorable kids!

1. Daughter of Top Cruise and Katie Holmes

Once again, beautiful begets beautiful but this time it is one of the celebrity babies that came from an unlikely couple.  Soori Cruise, daughter of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes is undeniably one of the most adorable and perhaps the one that looks most like her parents.

10. Gnomeo & Juliet (February)

This most recent take on the Shakespearean classic pits unlikely enemies (garden gnomes) against one another in an imaginative animated musical that is perfect for small children

9. Hop (April)

Perfectly released around the Easter season, the story of a bunny who doesn’t want to inherit the responsibilities of the Easter Bunny successfully combines live action with animation.

8. Rio (April)

This story about a rare blue macaw who discovers his heritage and himself has some adult themes, but even the smallest children will love the fanciful colors, variety of talking animals,

7. Kung Fu Panda 2 (May)

Suitable for older children because of the animated violence and mature themes, this film continues with the tradition of Dreamworks’ quality storytelling and animation and the perfect execution of a stellar ensemble cast.

6. Mr. Popper’s Penguins (June)

Children of this generation will probably not believe that this was a book from decades past and has never been made so successfully before.  With Jim Carrey leading the way, though, this promises to be a fun and joyful blast from the past for parents.

5. Cars 2 (June)

Kids love to watch movies about familiar things that do extraordinary acts.  This is one reason why the original Cars movie was a success.  Of course, do you ever doubt the Disney/Pixar team?

4. Winnie the Pooh (July)

The classic honey-loving bear is back with his Hundred Acre Wood friends in another all new adventure.  Sometimes the best new ideas revisit ones that should never be forgotten.

3. Smurfs (August)

One of the biggest surprises of the year (and recent film history) is this upcoming reimagining of one of the most interesting and simple cartoons of the eighties and nineties.  It will be interesting to see if children of this generation are as interested as their parents will be at the theatre.

2. Puss In Boots (November)

Technically, this is Shrek 5, but since it’s a prequel about a minor character from one of the films it doesn’t actually qualify as part of the series.  Nonetheless, children and parents alike will appreciate another successful installment from Dreamworks Animation.

1. Happy Feet 2 (November)

More dancing penguins?  It worked the first time!  Cute babies love cute animals!

Those are the 10 best movies for babies in 2011. Surely, you and your little one will enjoy at least three of these movies on this list.

Horvath’s plan is to stake his claim over New York City in order to implement his own devilish plans. The illusionist hired by Horvath assists this dark plan by conjuring up magic to fight against his arch enemy, Balthazar Blake. Balthazar’s being intimidated by the terrible duo, decides to hire an apprentice to help him in his fight of good versus evil in this promising Disney movie.

The apprentice, Dave Stutler (played by Jay Baruchel), is reluctant in the beginning but is ultimately convinced to join Blake in his struggle against Horvath. Dave Stutler is nothing special, just an average college student and doesn’t have a clue about magic. As Balthazar attempts to quickly teach him everything about magic he possibly can, it’s easy to imagine what kind of adversity they will face. As a Disney movie, we can expect this to follow suit and provide audiences with plenty of laughs and edge of your seat action. Oh, and I forgot to mention that there’s a certain someone (of the opposite gender) who becomes quite a motivator for Stutler.

The Sorcerer’s Apprentice is a spinoff of the popular Disney movie Fantasia. Fantasia was a movie made without words. Instead orchestra music by Paul Dukas graced the entire film. In it, there is a segment known as The Sorcerer’s Apprentice which had a similar plot to that of this summer’s Apprentice movie release, was about none other than a sorcerer’s apprentice. Mickey Mouse was used as the lead character and the audience was drawn into his adventures as he tried to use magic to get a broom to do his work for him. Of course when you bring a broom to life, you should expect that it won’t be very cooperative. And so went the film. Originally, this movie was a flop. Today it is considered to be a classic.

Rapunzel is based on a fairy tale which was originally published in a collection of stories by the Grimm brothers in 1812. This tale became a favorite of many and is said to be one of the best known fairy tales. Adapted by Walt Disney, the fairy tale begins with a humble husband and wife living in a small cottage when the wife becomes terribly ill. There is only one thing that can cure her and it belongs to the evil witch next door. The husband gets caught steeling some of this Rapunzel herb and in order for him to keep the herb for his wife, he must promise his first born child. He makes the promise and returns to his wife who quickly recovers upon eating the herb.

The mother gives birth to a baby girl a year later and the witch comes back to claim the child promised to her by the desperate husband. The witch names her Rapunzel. When Rapunzel is twelve years old the witch becomes afraid that she may try to escape. She locks her in a tower with no way to get out. The witch takes care of Rapunzel by bringing food to her every day. Rapunzel’s hair is the only way for the witch to get in and out of the tower. This gave birth to the infamous line, “Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair.”

Walt Disney hasn’t told us how closely this film will follow the original story many of us have come to know and love. It has been said that Rapunzel will be a heartfelt, musical comedy filled with a lot of heart. In order to appeal to a more modern audience, Rapunzel will present as a story in relation to the parent-child relationship. It will illustrate the natural need for every child to eventually gain independence from our parents and become who they really are. Disney is adamant that they’re the ideal man for the job. Though some of their past films have been criticized by feminists for portraying women in the wrong light, Rapunzel is said to have a lot of “girl power.”

Another one of the many Disney babies that are out there, is Molly, Andy’s little sister from the first Toy Story movie.  Early on in the film, we see Molly playing with Mr. Potato, who doesn’t like her playing with him.  At the end of the film, we see a shot from inside the car, where Molly and her mother are listening to “Hakuna Matata”, a song from The Lion King.  Molly looks in the side mirror and sees Buzz and Woody riding the RC car.

Almost all of the famous Disney babies have names given to them, except for one.  The baby in Lady and the Tramp was not given a name, but then again, neither were her parents, who were just referred to as their nicknames for each other, Darling and Jim Dear.  Even though the baby’s name is never revealed in the film, it still played an important role.  The baby was the cause of all the problems that started for Lady.  Darling and Jim Dear started ignoring their dog when they had their child, which took up all of their time and attention.

Another group of Disney babies are the Cupid babies seen in Fantasia.  They were seen in the musical segment called “The Pastoral Symphony” which featured the music of Ludwig van Beethoven.  This scene has a Greek mythology theme, with centaurs, pegasi, fawns, gods, Mount Olympus and other mythical creatures.  And finally there is Boo, who is technically a toddler, but close enough.  Boo is seen in the movie Monster’s, Inc. where she follows Mike and Sulley back into the monster world, thinking that Sulley is a giant kitty cat.

1. NAME OF SPONSOR(S): LIVE with Regis and Kelly, 7 Lincoln Square, New York, New York 10023 (”LIVE”); American Broadcasting Companies, Inc., 77 West 66th Street, 16th Floor, New York, New York 10023 (”ABC”) (Hereinafter collectively referred to as “Sponsor”).

2. ELIGIBILITY: Nominees must be between the age of 6 months and 48 months as of January 5, 2010 and legal resident of the 50 U.S., D.C. or Canada, with the exception of Maine, Guam, Puerto Rico and all other U.S. territories and possessions and the Province of Quebec, Canada and where prohibited by law.

Send us a recent photo of your baby. Photos must have been taken in the last month and cannot be the product of a professional photographer. Submissions must be the sole property of entrant and entrant must have all rights to reproduce and distribute the photo submitted. Any submission not meeting these requirements will be immediately disqualified. You may enter twins, triplets, etc. as one entry. Hereafter “Child” shall refer to a single child or collectively to twins/triplets, etc. as applicable.

Entrants must be able to supply additional photo(s) if requested. Entries must be received by 5pm ET on Friday, January 29, 2010 to be eligible. Photos will not be acknowledged or returned. The ten (10) semi-finalists pictures will appear on LIVE and on LIVE’s website on or about the week of March 1, 2010. Viewers will have the chance to vote on-line for five (5) of the ten (10) semi-finalists. Only one (1) entry will be accepted per registered e-mail address. The Viewers will be told on air when the on-line voting will begin and end. The five (5) finalists receiving the most individual votes will be invited to appear on the program. 

The five (5) finalists will attend a photo shoot held by Parenting magazine. Based solely on photos produced from the photo shoot, representatives from the staffs of LIVE and Parenting magazine will decide who will win the title of “LIVE’s Beautiful Baby.” 

All entries will be judged based on the visual appeal of the baby to the judging panels as evidenced by the photograph. All decisions of the judges are final and binding as to all contest matters. 

All five (5) finalists’ parent/legal guardian must supply proof of identity, sign an Affidavit of Eligibility, Release and Indemnification, provide their Social Security/tax identification number and must sign a liability release and a publicity release prior to their appearance and final qualification and appearance. Failure to timely comply with any requirement of these terms and conditions will result in the winning entrant being deemed ineligible for any prize.

5. PRIZE(S) 

One (1) Grand Prize Winner will receive $125,000 to be used towards a 4 year college education and will appear on a future cover of Parenting magazine, Early Years edition. Four (4) runners-up will each receive $25,000 to be used towards 1 year of college education. Ten (10) semi-finalists will each receive a year’s worth of Gerber’s Start Healthy, Stay Healthy food vouchers including a personalized nutrition plan. Valued at $1000 (per winner). 

Federal, state and local taxes are the sole responsibility of the winner, who will receive an IRS Form 1099 reflecting the final actual value of any prize valued at $600 or more. Consult with your tax professional regarding potential tax implications. 

Prize won by a minor will be awarded in parent’s or guardian’s name. Winners are not entitled to exchange or transfer prizes or to obtain cash or other substitutes, but Sponsor in its sole discretion may substitute prizes of equal or greater value. All expenses not specifically provided for herein are the winner’s sole responsibility. Some restrictions may apply. 

Prize is subject to availability. Sponsor is not responsible for cancellation or rescheduling of any appearance or for other circumstances that make it impractical or impossible to fulfill any appearance related element of the prize. The appearance on the cover of Parenting magazine element of the prize has no approximate retail value, and if it becomes impractical or impossible to fulfill this element, Sponsor’s only obligation will be to provide the remainder, if any, of prize.

6. RELEASES: By participating, entrants agree to be bound by these official rules and the decisions of the Sponsor / Judges and the contest administrator, which shall be final in all respects.

Unique Baby! Judges of photography contests are look for unique shots of beautiful babies. Of course you will want to follow the guidelines of the 2010 Regis & Kelly baby contest, but don’t forget to use your imagination.

Remember, you can’t win every contest but you’re supposed to have fun and enjoy spending time with your baby. Don’t put too much thought into winning the contest, focus on having fun with it for the best photo results.
